In the summer of 2014 I went to a camp where they taught us how to make movies! I decided that I wanted to showcase the videos I did there. It's all on my dad's YouTube channel, so my subscribers wouldn't be able to find it easily, so I'm putting them up here. I also feel like giving some commentary on the videos.
I believe that this video was the result of the teacher asking us to do a video that used special effects. We though what better way to use special effects than a battle between people with magical powers! I remember there was a blooper where "Riddle" accidentally threw his "wand" and it hit somebody. Unfortunately that didn't make the final cut. Some of the magic spells I used were "Avada Kecopyright," "Blockus," and "Nostalgia Kritikus." Also, just "fire" at one point. I should mention that the audio for this video and A Very Ninja Christmas was done in post, and we had no script at all, so we were just winging it basically. Also at one point we seriously considered making this song the background music, but we eventually chose this generic video game music you hear now. I think we made the right choice.
And this year's academy award for best acting ever goes to... everyone who wasn't in A Very Ninja Christmas!
I know what you're probably thinking right about now. What the heck does any of this have to do with Christmas? Well, that plant that the enemy ninja was carrying to the Ninja Lair was originally called The Christmas Plant, but somewhere in post-production we forgot about that. So we cut out the only thing that makes our Christmas film Christmas-related. Great job! Also, the characters Chun-Li and Shinobi were named after characters from the video games Street Fighter and... Shinobi. Don't ask me how me and Shinobi came back to life after five years. We probably ate a 1-Up Mushroom somewhere along the way and there was a really long loading screen.

At some point in the week the guy who ran the camp brought us into a room to interview us. I love how this video is edited, because it makes it sound like this conversation happened:
EVAN: So how did you find out about this camp?
ISAAC: French fries from Five Guys!
The question that actually preceded my response was "What's your favorite food?" but I guess that information wasn't important enough. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah yes, the Talkity Talk Talk Show. Every day they would make us do an interview show where we would basically be like a professional film crew. In that first scene we were talking about Frozen, which had just come out and I was still blown away by the fact that it completely rejected the idea that several Disney films before it had put forth, which was "A prince just met you? MARRY HIM IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE EVERYONE WANTS TO BE A PRINCESS!!!!1!!" Also this was when What Does the Fox Say? was still relevant. In related news, did you know that there is a children's book based on that song? Who knew?
This was the last and longest film we made. I was trying to play a cool, really calm detective, but nobody ever let me have any lines. I just sat there twirling a magnifying glass with no lens. Who knows what amazing performance I could have brought to this if they just let me speak?! Actually, based on my work in A Very Ninja Christmas, they probably weren't missing out on much. At least I decided that the butler was the thief! That's something, right?
